Despite the long-tail challenges of the pandemic, Minneapolis and St. Paul’s resilient restaurant community continues to find creative ways to introduce diners to fantastic food. Helmed by three Travail alumni — pastry chef Alex Althoff, chef Nat Moser, and creative director Sarah Julson — Dahlia is an exciting “pastries and savories” pop-up. On a technical level, these baked goods are superb: The croissants are feather-light, the biscuits crumbly and moist. They’re a canvas for unexpected flavors, like a jammy Bloody Mary croissant, or a donut lacquered with a shimmering creme brulee glaze.
